FAF Mag is a general-interest magazine. That phrase has fallen out of fashion, which is exactly why we like it: it means we get to follow a story about a new phone in the morning and a story about a hill climb in the afternoon, and treat both as worth doing well.
The sections
- Tech — what is new, what is useful, and the difference between the two.
- Music — records, artists, scenes and the machinery of the industry behind them.
- Sport — the games, the people who play them, and the arguments that outlive the final whistle.
- Cars — driving, owning, maintaining and occasionally just admiring.
- Life — everything else that a curious person spends their time on: money, food, travel, work, habits.
Who writes it
Everything here is published under the byline The FAF Mag Team. We are a small editorial group and we edit each other, so no piece goes live having been seen by only one person.
Our editorial standard
Two commitments carry most of the weight.
The first is plain: everything published on FAF Mag is safe for work. No adult material, no gratuitous content, nothing you would need to close before a colleague walked past. That applies to articles, to images, and to anything we link out to. It is not a temporary policy or a matter of taste, it is the standard the whole site is built to.
The second is accuracy. We check claims before we print them, we credit and link the sources we relied on, and we distinguish between what is known, what is reported and what is our opinion. When we get something wrong, we fix the article and note that we changed it. We are clear about commercial relationships: sponsored or affiliate content is labelled as such, and payment never buys a favourable verdict or quiet coverage.
We would rather publish four pieces a week that are actually worth reading than forty that were assembled to fill a page. If we ever slip from that, tell us, because readers noticing is the only quality control that has ever really worked.
